Of all the good suggestions in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, "Habit 1: Be Proactive" is particularly useful when you feel powerless against life's forces. Covey recommends you examine what you can do instead of focusing on worries over which you have no real control. First notice all your concerns. Then, among those concerns, determine where you can take action:

Think of ways to be more proactive (not aggressive) and address the things you can do something about. Your circle of influence will enlarge and your circle of concern will shrink:

Covey distinguishes between the have's ("If only I had...") and the be's ("I can be..."). Focusing on what you don't like is disempowering. Focusing on what you can do is proactive and empowering. "Be part of the solution," Covey suggests, "not part of the problem."

This is something I am striving to live. I have been a worry-wart for a while! There is so much unecessary anxiety we create in ourselves-and this is why. If we focus on things we can control (attitude, actions, emotion, etc.) then we have less anxiety; we know we cannot do anything about some things. (weather, other's actions, etc.)
This has truly helped me to be happier; to have a better sense of hope, and to trust in my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
This is with a little change with photoshop :)

This picture was taken with my phone; at 6 AM this morning. The sky was literally this orange! It was so warm feeling with the color of the leaves.

I got this awesome plate of food at a place called One World-it's downtown. Most that work there are volunteers. The prices are only suggested. Basically they want everyone to have the opportunity for a hot meal. Some work there to eat. I chose a filet of tilapia with sun-dried tomatoes, bombay potatoes, a greek cucumber salad, and vegetable quiche.
